An amazing thing has happened; something that I thought I would never see again. But, there it was, a brand new Golite Shangri-La 3, for sale, and with extras included in the price. I couldn’t believe it, this one-time popular bombproof tent has not been available for many years, however, this one appeared on a lightweight backpacking forum so I quickly got in touch with the seller.
The items for sale included: A new Golite Shangri-La 3 fly in bamboo, complete with original pegs, pole and stuff sacks. An unused original Shangri-La 3 full inner, an unused one-man inner by Oookworks (made by Sean), and an unused two-man inner by Oookworks (also made by Sean).
“But you already have a Golite Richard?” yes, but that will have a new home. Now we have purchased a Durston X Mid 2, which is a more lightweight 2 person tent, the new Golite will become our family tent, with also the option of using it with the single inner which will accommodate myself and Tika.
