We had a lovely family day out yesterday visiting Troutbeck, and introducing ourselves and the Lakeland Way to The Old Post Office Tearoom and Village Hall Troutbeck, YHA Windermere and The Mortal Man. Many thanks to Jane and Gary at the tearooms, Tom at the hostel, and Sarah, Emily and Tommy at the hotel for spending so much time with us and embracing this long-distance walk.
Initially when developing this walk we looked at including the hostel on our ‘accommodation’ page on the website, but we thought it would be too far out of the way from the path. However, after a visit yesterday, and checking the road down to the hostel we feel it’s well worth adding to the list. It’s actually less than a mile, but it would also be such a shame to miss out on their facilities which includes a lovely campsite.
