Blencathra via Hall’s Fell – the ridge that never fails to impress. A playground of exposed scrambles and arêtes, providing excitement all the way to the summit.

We took advantage of this small weather window and were rewarded with superb conditions along the ridge of Hall’s Fell. Towards the end, on the last scramble to the summit, we got battered by side winds and spindrift, but this just added to the exhilaration of the climb.

We followed the crest as closely as possible, which provided plenty of interest and experience for our dog, Tika. We feel he’s now ready for Sharp Edge and the edges of Helvellyn in winter conditions.
