A walk up to Gowbarrow Fell from the car park at Aira Force, visiting the main waterfall and the upper falls, and returning via the terrace path overlooking Ullswater.
There are some paths in Lakeland that we return to time and again, ones that have rewarded us with splendid views of the surrounding landscape and left us with memories — and an eagerness to return. There are even fewer that deliver these rewards in every season, whether in deep snow or at the height of summer. The terrace route that traverses the southern flank of Gowbarrow Fell is one of those special paths we love so much.
