We went to Borrowdale in the morning and visited the old barn ruin and yew tree on High Doat. Richard had made Emily a new walking stick the week before, and we also wanted to path-test Emily’s new walking boots. We then called in at Seatoller Farm and had coffee and cake in their new cafe; it was fascinating to watch four swallow chicks being fed by their parents on the old roof beams inside the cafe barn.
