A nice weather window in a month of persistent rain, and an opportunity for Emily to bag her 20th and 21st Wainwright fells. She’s approaching six years old and there’s no stopping her now; her enthusiasm to “climb mountains” is clear to see, and that’s with no pressure from us at all. It’s in her bones, that is for sure, and apparently she doesn’t mind getting her feet wet. That’s good to know of course, especially after taking her over the wettest ridge in the Lake District!

This day was also an opportunity to test the cameras on our new Samsung phones with proper landscape scenery. There seems to be a lot of discussion lately about comparing compact cameras with the latest technology of mobile phone cameras. However, having looked at the images which seem to have too much clarity and saturation, we’ve decided to stick with a more natural look of our compact cameras from now on.
