Today was a sad day for our family, as it was time to scatter Frankie’s ashes under the yew tree in Johnny Wood, Borrowdale. Frankie has always been by my side since arriving in the Lake District, and it was to be the valley of Borrowdale that became our favourite place to walk. Frankie had walked every path, drank from all the becks, and visited each top many times that surround this beautiful valley. He is now home.
R.I.P my friend.
Here are a few mobile pics:
Take comfort, in veil of this yew,
Rise each dawn, and morning dew.
Dance the valley air, you are free,
Your guardian now, this mighty tree.
A falling beck, you may hear,
‘Tis your friend, so do not fear.
Amongst friends, you became known,
For many will kneel, by this stone.
