Today we visited Aira Force to see the completed work that was carried out to repair the damage caused by a fallen tree in August 2021. Got to say, it looks rather good, so well done all involved, especially the National Trust. We finished off with lunch at St Marys, Thornthwaite, where Tika spotted the three Hercules doing their retirement flypast over the Vale of Keswick.

Apologies for yet more doggy pics, but we are spending more time taking Frankie to shaded becks and pools for his health. Sadly his nerve degeneration is getting worse and his back legs are weakening more rapidly than expected. It’s a real struggle for him now, but I know deep down he wants to continue to see and smell Lakeland as long as he can. He is also enjoying the company of Tika, and seeing them both splashing about together in the cool water is an absolute delight to see. Although a tearful day in part, these are memorable days for our family.
