It’s Sunday, and the Lake District is bursting at its seams with summer tourists. However, there are many areas of the park where you can find peace — areas of nature bursting into flower, with only a warm summer breeze for background music, and where the only invasion is the many varieties of butterflies dancing above the flower heads.

Here we visited the nature reserve near Eskmeals Viaduct, which was abundant in all things non-human. It was bliss.
