A lovely camera day with my friend, Chris Butterfield.

Chris had just bought a new camera and was keen to capture some Lakeland scenery to test it out, so we headed into the heart of my favourite valley, Borrowdale. We visited the yew tree and old barn where Frankie’s ashes were scattered, followed by the summit of High Doat, with great views of Castle Crag and the surrounding valley, and then went over to show Chris the Bloater Stone — although this location is not given for the time being.

Unfortunately, the sky was poor with fair-weather cloud, but we had many interesting features to photograph for foreground shots. Chris was in his element with his new big zoom — I could only stand back and admire with my pocket camera.

A special thanks to Glaramara Hotel for their ongoing support of the Lakeland Way.

Following is a mixture of our images.
