The Muncaster Castle gardens are looking exceptional at the moment. Although the rhododendrons are not yet in full bloom and it’s ‘not their time’, a few early flowers are already adding a lovely touch to a visit to see the bluebells.
Our walk included a route through the estate, a visit to the café, and then up Fell Lane to the tarn and the summit of Muncaster Fell. We returned via Lower Eskdale and back through the estate to Ravenglass.
