I’ve wanted to photograph this round for many years now. Weirdly, it’s not a popular one, even though the route rewards you with some wonderful Lakeland scenery. If you like tops and tarns, then this walk is for you, and on a clear, sunny day the tarns will show off their colour like blue sheets of glass.

This round can be extended to include High Raise and White Stones, but personally, the route I took — descending from Codale Head and following the old fence line to the Far Easedale path — made the walk feel better as a true valley round.
