Some photos from a camp just below the summit of Whiteside. I had pitched on the summit plateau, but the easterly winds were too fierce. While taking the tent down, which was quite a struggle, I was suddenly hit by snow flurries. Thinking the worst, I started my descent towards the col between Whiteside and Raise, intending to return home. However, I found a flat, sheltered spot on the slope below. Phew!
The next morning, I witnessed a wonderful sunrise, but high cloud soon moved in, so I decided to head down early rather than walking over the Dodds as planned.
